......Eeeeeeexcept, it's already been done, in Benjamin Button. Or, y'know, a more direct parallel, The Time Traveler's Wife. Books, not the movies, obvs. Tho I doubt Moffat read either one, it looked like he just cribbed from both movies, filed the serial numbers off then called it a day.

Not sure Nu!Who made the transition to "adult" fare very well IMO.

I said it was an idea I liked, not that it was incredibly original. We've reached the point where in fictional media, just about everything has been done before.

This relationship showed a lot of promise, but when it came down to Lets Kill Hitler-onwards, River's portrayal became incredibly problematic for me. I second the comments above mentioning how one-sided everything feels, River ends up lacking any sort of independent identity and that it seems like the Doctor married her just to essentially 'shut her up'.

It's already been done, you say?

Like every other story that could possibly be written at this point?

There are only seven stories, you know. And they were all thought up long before you were even born.

People who grasp at "originality" are naiive fools and hipster idiots. Nothing is original. Everything is derivative. We are entertained by the copies of copies of copies.

Oooh, look at you being so edgy.

Still going with the "7 stories concept" even though it has long been abandoned by academics?

Shut up.
