I said it was an idea I liked, not that it was incredibly original. We've reached the point where in fictional media, just about everything has been done before.

This relationship showed a lot of promise, but when it came down to Lets Kill Hitler-onwards, River's portrayal became incredibly problematic for me. I second the comments above mentioning how one-sided everything feels, River ends up lacking any sort of independent identity and that it seems like the Doctor married her just to essentially 'shut her up'.
