Personally I avoid anything that labels itself a "gay movie" because I know it'll focus around gay issues and gay drama and gay relationships and gay gay gaygaygaaay and I'd rather watch movies about other things that happen to have gay characters in them.

I love Maurice, and there's also Another Country, which is a lovely film. Not to mention My Beautiful Laundrette. Anyhow OP will never know how great these films are because they are spoilt by those annoying British accents.

I can easily ignore them, but I'm not a big fan of most British accents I've heard. And yes, I know there is more than one type of British accent.

I don't know why so many people find them sexy or whatever.

Really? I've only found two that have compelling storylines. A lot of the genre is horribly cliched or badly written.

I'm going to bet on troll, but lack of foresight has a more amusing backstory. So, I imagine you were conditioned to hate British accents in "gay movies" because you've been burned too many times by crap British films. So, as soon as you hear a British accent your mind sets off warning bells. "DANGER! DANGER! YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE MISERABLE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF!" And, you save yourself wasting time with shit by just shutting it off.,

My first thought was that they must have a severely limited pool of movies. LGBT is a small category to begin with and once you weed out the good films...a lot of them are British. Not that it matters to me what people choose not to watch and...most likely a troll anyway.

I still want to know why.

As I commented above, the accents just turn me off almost completely. It's sad, but true. I watch for the fap fodder, nothing else, so if their accent gets in the way it isn't worth my time.
