LOL really. You are gonna go with her character story is boring. Compared to, I dunno, fucking Ant Man who is getting a movie? And lbr no one needs Thor or Iron Man 'explained' to them to take them seriously. They are there for the eye candy and man pain, who cares what the character is about.

Did I say he wasn't? No. I was saying it's BS to act like Black Window isn't a complicated character with her own history and emotions and shit to explore. Yeah you can just think of her as an 'assassin' but that is generic as fuck and you could water down any of the avengers to a basic level if you wanted to. No need to single her out.

Hey, I'd love a Black Widow movie too, but I hate to break it to you, but over here? In the real world? A pre-Avengers Black Widow movie would've tanked. It's unfortunate, but true.

And what is your point? I am still pissed that male superheros will always be seen as so bankable no matter what and female superheros will rot in corners and cameos, never getting their own movies.

She is? I'd seen some rumors about there being a Black Widow movie right after Avengers came out, but I haven't seen anything since then, and since they've announced all their "Phase 2" movies and Black Widow wasn't on the list, I assumed it wasn't happening after all.

Genuinely not picking a fight here but have they actually released any more details on her movie? I heard some talk about it during the post-Avengers high that Marvel was riding but I haven't heard anything about it since, not even saying that yes she really is getting her own film.

Yeeeah, it's not gonna happen. That article dates back from May. No mention of it at the Comic Con panel a few months later, when Marvel announced their lineup. I'd like to be optimistic but this would go past optimistic and well into delusional.

Yeah adding to the chorus of not being hopeful here. It's a better article than the first one I saw but as others have said, since nothing has been mentioned about a Black Widow film at any of the cons I don't see it happening anymore. :(

And...uh....Natasha kinda has manpain too, even if she's a woman. Probably more manpain than Tony and Thor, because it's not like she actually needs to fix her fuckups herself to stop anyone from getting hurt. And her angst is the same inner guilt and demons and personal responsibility and drive to redeem herself. Which, you know, is kind of a really, really GOOD trope in fiction when it's not done in a wangsty way. There's a reason it's a cliche.
