How many fandoms have extremely prominent black men in lead roles, exactly? And ones that aren't nixed from the pairing line up by age/relationship to other characters?

House MD, Psych, Scrubs (an old one, I know, but the fandom was crazy active), Avengers, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Torchwood: Miracle Day, Blade, RENT, Mass Effect 2 (do video games count?), Dexter (Doakes in seasons one and two, and yes I know--not extremely prominent, and yes they killed him off, but I wanted fic for him SO BAD, and it never happened, so I'm a little bitter.)

There are also untold numbers of fandoms I am NOT familiar with, so feel free to add to this admittedly short list.

Oh! Also: Grimm. I keep forgetting about that show.

Yes! Grimm. I totally need some Hank/Monroe fic in my life. I'm loving their interactions this year.

Me toooo! I would settle for Hank/Nick, but Hank/Monroe would be ~*magical*~

I also love how quickly Hank caught on to the 'every case ever will tie in to the vesen' thing. No offense to Nick, but you'd think he'd have clued in by now...

I... don't think Nick is the greatest cop on the face of the planet in the Grimm!verse (::cough or any !verse cough::), so it doesn't surprise me that he hasn't clued into that yet.

Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.

Common Law on USANetwork? A white guy and a black guy as detective partners sent to marriage counselling to deal with their partnership issues.

(I'm not a part of fandom for that, but I now wonder about their slashiness.)

I had forgotten about Common Law! That one is one of the exceptions where the main slash pairing in fandom is the two leads! The slashy subtext of that show is so over the top, what with the guys actually being in "couples counseling" and so forth, that it is pretty much impossible to watch even one episode without shipping them.

Sam/Callen is the main slash pairing in NCIS LA fandom. Although the fandom's not that large.

I've heard Morgan/Reid is pretty big in Criminal Minds fandom, but I can't speak to that personally since I'm not in that fandom.

Ryan/Esposito is the main slash pairing in Castle fandom, though of course that is secondary to the primary Caskett het pairing.

Unfortunately, I am not in any of those fandoms, so I am missing the love! I'm so sick of crime dramas, though... :(

Ahaha! So true! When I saw an ep, I thought, "Wow, this sounds like the plot of a fanfic."

NCIS: LA? I don't watch it personally, but I thought LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell's characters had a pretty strong slash following.

Also Criminal Minds, although Derek/Reid is a fairly popular ship in its own right.

Seconding the disappointment over lack of Doakes fic. And I'm still devastated over Tony/Rhodey. I giggled my way through IM1 in anticipation of fandom's reaction and... nothing. Oh but you can find Tony/Everyone One Else Ever Including the Damn AI.

So....yeah, I have some feelings about that. Also I was SO SURE that Dexter/Doakes was going to be THE slash pairing, but instead everyone was like "Oh no there's no other hot white guys so we'll ship him with HIS BROTHER"

Nothing against broshipping--I love Sam/Dean, but ARGHH at least Dexter and Doakes fucking KNEW EACH OTHER.

I still can't believe Dexter/Doakes wasn't a bigger thing. I LIVED for their scenes and Doakes was so damn intriguing. Imagine my surprise when I checked out fandom looking to squee and all I found was everyone talking about the weird cillian murphy brother dude who was the least interesting thing ever. And I tried okay? I tried to get into it but nobody was even writing creepy messed up destructive enough incesty stuff to hold my attention.

So mostly I drifted about crying about where all my morally questionable antagonistic hate sex went. I'll be honest, grudges were held against the Dexter fandom. Toys were packed up and taken home.

Ok, I completely lost it. I had completely forgotten that SURPRISE MOTERFUCKER was a thing, lol.

I love this meme and every single one of its dumb bowtie/skinny tie/all rise/made pie/not my size variations and I don't care who knows.

THEY ARE ALL AMAZING.

I am forever wanting more Tony/Rhodey.
