1. I'm so sad my 11th birthday past so long ago.

11. That doujinshi is so squicky, but I couldn't help but read it. It's like a train wreck. You just can't turn away. I felt so guilty afterward though.

13. Technically, they're not under-aged, right? ;]

18. The only person I know who hates Disney is my History teacher, but really only because he hates how false Pocahontas was. All my friends are Disney freaks.

21. That reminds me of this Sasunaru parody that I read today that made fun of those overused cliches in fandom including weepyuke!naruto and superseme!sasuke. And am I the only one who find the term superseme funny?

22. So true.

2. Just because the fandom scares you doesn't mean you have to hate it. I enjoy Ouran Host Club, but the fangirls and the rabidness of its fandom scares the crap out of me-- even my #1 Fandom (Stargate) has some scary people in it, but all you need is a small group you're comfortable with and just keep to yourself. Don't look at the fanfiction, the shippings or the roleplay outside of your group. It's actually quite easy after awhile.

This was my thought too. Like it in your own way.

4. The Arrancar Arc is the best. The characters rock as well as the story. END OF DISCUSION. I dont know why your friends say that you only like Chad and the Arrancar because your of a spanish background. I think thats mighty rude and would probably kick someone int he face if they ever accused me of that.

[identity profile] hako-neko.livejournal.com 2007-08-13 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree... the OP's friends sound sort of racist to me. Why can't people accept that you like it just because?

10. I wanted to use my icon that has Axel saying 'I survived akuroku day!', but I can't. This year wasn't too bad, last year was just more rabid. I also remember a secret posted back saying they wish they day didn't exist. A little too harsh in my opinion, but no one's jealous. Don't be that silly, please. I'm not ashamed to say Axel/Roxas is one of my OTPs. I just don't read fanfiction or look at really cheesy art of them. That keeps me in denial on how badly they are butchered. I'm glad you're not in the fandom anymore if you're that immature, sorry to say it but it's true. I don't hate Axel/Roxas fans, I hate fanbrats of "akuroku".

I'm sorry, I'm a little lost.. what is 8/13 thing? I'm a fan but never being in the fandom

4. Chad is really awesome. He doesn't get the love he deserves!

9. Wow that's both sad and kinda hilarious.

10. Happy Axel/Roxas Day. It's just one of my OTPs...I pretty much have grown to an OT13 kinda gal myself.

#20 - Denial is a natural part of grieving. Lots and lots of people who don't even know what "fandom" is experience similar feelings when they lose a loved one -- I felt the same way when my best friend died of cancer when we were children, and again when my grandmother died when I was an adult. It frightened me, too, until I began to speak with others who were dealing with grief and realized that I wasn't alone.

There is no "right way" to deal with death or grief (although there are some harmful ways) -- it is a process, a journey, and every person goes through it in a different way. The only "wrong way" is not to move through those feelings, but even that part of the process is faster for some people than for others.

Don't be afraid and don't beat yourself up over how you feel, how you respond -- especially if the death is a recent one. Pain isn't logical. Loss doesn't follow rules. As a very wise woman once told me, "We all go a little crazy when we brush up against death."

If you think it will help you, see about finding a grief support group -- local hospitals or churches are good places to look. Draw close to people, find friends or strangers who you can trust enough to tell your feelings to. Don't be alone.

*hugs* Good luck. Be well.

- Someone who's been there.

9) Haha New York City doesn't have those. When I went to Washington DC and Baltimore for cons, the streets there had them and I was like WOAH COOL. :(

16. YOU AND I BOTH MAN YOU AND I BOTH!

17. I'm not a pretentious Goth at all...not goth at all actually. And Sandman changed if not rocked my world!!! Its the greatest ever! I'm sure you can find others who love the series who arn't snobby...yay! sandman secret! *squee*

[identity profile] militarypenguin.livejournal.com 2007-08-14 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
4. Chad should've been the main character (or at least one of the lead characters). The end.

15. Edgeworth's one of the best written characters I've seen of the Angstaholic archetype, too. Many have convincingly tragic pasts, but few have a personality to boot and their balls still intact. I disagree with your comment about Phoenix, however. By the second game? I think it's safe to say that Phoenix's character is equally as well-rounded as Edgeworth's, even while preferring one over the other.

Reborn! fandom is love in a major way!

5. I don't ship them but I love them individually and whoever submitted this rocks because I never thought I'd see a Hunchback of Notre Dame secret posted here.

5) You are not alone.
20) I'm glad you realize you have a problem.

[identity profile] marineneko.livejournal.com 2007-08-14 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
4. Some fandoms need to remember that the countries they hold in such high esteem are actually real and have real people living in them, and sometimes even out of them. Geeze. Also, Chad is amazing.

5. Yay for mindfuck pairings that actually have some canon basis XD Damn, is that story twisted. I love it.

11. The "official doujin" (remixes and megamixes alike) sometimes make me think that what Murakami really wanted to write was really kinky het, but she didn't because yaoi sold more back then. Really, WTF.

19. YES. I totally get the sentiment and join you in your request for more Reborn RPs... Or multifandom ones with more Reborn characters♥♥♥

Is Chad Latino or Spanish?, I had no idea, I find him boring so whenever there is something about him I just skim through it, btw way I'm a latina too. If you like him then fuck everyone else, what do you care about whatever your friends [who sound like racist fucktarts - sorry to say] think?.

PS: Soul Society > carbon copy arch Arrancar.

4. Don't be afraid, speak up. That kind of cultural ignorance would annoy anyone.

13. Word. Mmm... Hitsugaya.

22. At least with shoujo and ALL manga it doesn't conform to purity purity purity schoolgirls purity pure schoolgirls and their purity pure drinking tea purity. Optional, depending on whether it's aimed at girls or guys: INSERT RANDOM BOOB GRAB.

20. Hahaha oh.... yeah... hahaha ._. at least you've never actually thought about "rewatching" parts of your life that you liked.

(Anonymous) 2007-08-14 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Who says I haven't thought about it?

[identity profile] enjolras.livejournal.com 2007-08-14 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
1. So am I. :|

2. I AGREE. I can't stand the HP fandom. There's so many nutsos in it because it's so popular. I think that's the case for PotO and Naruto, also.

10. Is this a special day or something??? I notice the 8 and 13, but other than that.....? I've been out of touch with the KH fandom lately.

15. Look at that pose. Seriously, how can you NOT be turned on by Edgeworth???????? *melts*

[identity profile] levikitty.livejournal.com 2007-08-14 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
10. Look at the way you write the date: 8/13. It looks like how you'd write a pairing name: Axel/Roxas.

Thus, today is the day to flood all your favorite KH communities with your fanstuff.

#20--Don't worry, it's not just you. I recently lost someone I love, and I'm still convinced that some plot twist is going to bring her back, even if it's just for an hour.

Then again, I don't think that ghosts and the like are entirely fictional. The way we look at reality is pretty flexible. Maybe in some sense you're right, and you may be headed for a dream about this person. Don't be too hard on yourself for what you feel.
