If you could change one thing about your body... (with a twist!)

(Anonymous) 2012-11-08 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
None of the secrets interest me today, so let's play a game. If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?

The catch is that it can't be visible. No weight, hair color, skin color, height, the size of your nose. None of that.

(I admit that I mostly want to see what people come up with.)

I have carpal tunnel syndrome and a ganglion cyst in my right wrist. I would love to get rid of all of that, thank you.

I wouldn't mind being rid of my celiac disease.

I'd get rid of my allergies. I have too many of the damn things and some are really bad.

Get rid of my periods. FOREVER.

...but not my eventual possible fertility. Fuck Nature, can we never win?

I would get rid of my asthma.

Get rid of my allergies, or specifically my dog allergy. I like dogs! Dogs are cool! I want to hang out with dogs without sneezing and getting puffy, itchy eyes for a day or two afterwards.

Semi-visible when I'm lazy...leg hair. And arm pit hair. And, fuck it, armpit sweat glands.

And my wisdom teeth. Why four of the damn things, genetics? I can't possibly need that many.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-08 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Stealing the other anon's answer about periods.

To be slightly more original, I wouldn't mind if my astigmatism just magically went away. I'm at the point where I *need* glasses at work, but can function fine without them elsewhere. It'd be nice to not have to deal with that.

Does better vision count? I'd want eyes that actually work properly.

Not visible? Huh. Um...I'd make my stomach magically able to consume massive amounts of calories healthily so that I wouldn't have to watch what I eat. Does that count? Particularly since my main thing is so I could lose weight, so pffft it probably doesn't count

Both cat allergies and my mouth's tendency to generate swarms of cankersores can both go die in a fire kthxbai.

Either restore my eyesight to 20/20 or fix that skin condition I've had since kindergarten.

I'd like to regrow my elbow please. Right now there's a pin where it used to be, and the whole area hurts like a son of a gun when it gets cold.

I would love to get rid of my fibromyalgia, or my migraines, or fix my ancles who both are fucked up because of falls from horses where I landed on them,... Getting depth perception would be pretty cool too (people seem to think 3D effects are pretty near, and I've never seen one...)

I would like to be able to run/do cardio without having painful inflammation in my bronchial tubes. I should probably see a doctor about this, it's been a lifelong issue

Oh and for my bipolar disorder to go away (that's in the brain so I guess it counts)

I wish my hearing was better. I'm very slightly deaf at certain frequencies, and it makes it frustrating in social situations where I have to repeatedly ask for a person to say what they already said, because I couldn't hear them.

I also wish that I wasn't predisposed to alcoholism, because my birth mother drank heavily when I was in utero.

Super strength. Then I could bring in all the groceries at once. And pick up cars.

And if that doesn't count due to muscles possibly being visible, then I'd want to correct my vision.

I'd trade my clitoris for a dick. It wouldn't do as much for my dysphoria as not having curves and boobs would, but it'd help.

I would be glad to be rid of my polycycstic ovaries. That'd be...four fewer pills I have to take every day.

I'd like to have super strength or inhumanly fast reflexes! If not that I'd like night vision.

Or, like someone else said, just stop my god awful periods.

Eh, on the practical side I would like to get rid of some genetic problems that have caused me health problems. I would also like to get rid of some of my regular health problems.

But you know what? Not being practical? And not making any biological or scientific sense?

I would want a second heart so that if one gets injured the other can keep me alive. I would want skin really tough so I couldn't get hurt. I would like better senses. I would like to either have a way to close up my vagina or make it detachable. (I'm so not even joking about that even if it is funny.) I would like bones that were super strong. I would like strong nails. I would love stronger teeth. I would love to have a second set of vocal cords because flanging is sexy.

I think that's long enough but I could go on. *shrug* That interesting enough?

I want the chemical imbalance in my head to correct itself. I'm tired of crushing depression, anxious paranoia and the need for medication that feels like it empties me of every emotion I have.

Otherwise, I'd like to get rid of my period/fertility. Unlike the one anon above who mentioned that she might want kids at some point, I don't ever want to be a mother.

Delete my uterus.
