Ugh, I agree. I'm black, the end, go away. Don't lump me in with Asians or whatever because I probably have more in common culturally with a white person than an Asian person.

what do you prefer? i've been using poc since i see people it applies to using it. i used to just say black people and nobody seemed to get upset about that but i don't know if that's the term of preference anymore.

POC is at best horribly over encompassing and at worst fostering an "us vs theme" mentality of white people and everybody else.

Personally, I feel that racial minority seems like a decent term when used in context. It's neutral and can be applied to any country, while, a loaded term like 'PoC' is pretty much unacceptable in outside of the West.
