I dunno, it really depends. My sister told me I dressed like a asian skater when I'm on my lazy days. I like layering though and I dress pretty feminine when I feel like actually trying. I love shoesssss.

...and my money with Fei Wang Reed is because...idk. To me he just seemed passieve. He did do some stuff, but he was mostly content to sit back and watch other's do things for most of the series [iirc - I could be forgetting something though, it's been a year or two since I last read.]

Semi on-topic but I really want to know who in their right mind thought that Javier Bardem would look good with that shade of blond, and then decided that they had to do his eyebrows in the same color on top of it all. He would look a good 75% better if they hadn't touched his brows.

And there's one thing that would actually make me interested in seeing a Bond movie.

Pretty much my exact reaction to that scene -- exacerbated by the fact that the men around me recoiled and went into very loud gay panic. Then of course the dude I went to see it with filled up an entire bingo card trying to justify the queerness-as-creepy aspect to the villain when I mentioned that was the one aspect of the movie that bothered me.

Good point. I buy books and DVDs for my fandoms, and that's pretty much it. No life-size animatronic replicas or convention weekends for me.

Yeah, I get why Moriarty is often made the Big Bad, but.. Honestly, I sometimes wonder if people who adapt Sherlock Holmes ever bother to read the stories. There are plenty of other cool villains.

The cool thing about Beeches is that it could be adapted pretty easily without much change. Even with cellphones and the like. I mean, even if Violet could sent a text saying she was in danger, it's not much help if noone can get out to the house in time to save her...

Upper middle class. My mom's hugely in debt, though, so we don't have much spare spending money. That, and the fact that I live in a very rich area (so I didn't know what the other end of the spectrum looked like) are the main reasons why it took me so long to realize what my actual class was.

I don't remember the actual dialogue so don't take my word for this, but iirc that was referring to the fact that Bond had had other men coming onto him, so Silva wasn't the first (Silva's behaviour towards him was really, REALLY suggestive). I actually can't remember if the context seemed to imply the fact that Bond himself had any kind of sexual encounter with men, though. At first I'd interpreted it as "omg Bond is bi?!! *_*" too, but then someone referenced this trope --> http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GayBravado and I kind of cried a little inside :|

It's not always about the job, it's about the authority or corruption or power imbalance, etc. All types of job related scenarios can be sexualized.

HDU, Sherlock's Irene Adler was fantastic!

But if I'm serious, I also thought she was very close to the ACD version.

1) She was an "adventuress" (19th century code for high-end courtesan), which was modernised into a dominatrix for the very rich and powerful.

2) She outwitted Sherlock Holmes in ACD canon by seeing through his disguise and following him home, and in Sherlock by seeing through his disguise, following him home, thwarting his efforts to find out anything about her or the files she kept in her mobile phone, faked her death, and managed to get him to help her out in the end.

3) Her feelings for a man put her in a dangerous position. In the original, it was that guy she wanted to marry and the Bohemian king. In Sherlock her feelings were for Sherlock made it possible for him to solve her password, and put her life in danger.

4) In both versions she manages to tough Sherlock in a profound way.

I was happy about the modernisation regarding her attitude though; there was no indication she even considered giving up her way of life, which she seemed to enjoy quite a bit, for Sherlock.

Also, were her mistake really a mistake? It did make Sherlock come and help her, after all...

Sorry, no thoughts on Elementary, though. I've only seen the first episode.

Jeans and tops/fleece jackets/sweaters, depending on weather. I don't do layers, not because I don't like it but because I don't get the how. But yeah, casual to gender neutral, unless I go out or go to a theme party. Then it's short skirts (shortest of short! Though I wear tights/leggins, because reasons) and low-cut tops that flatter my figure. And my hooker boots. I love my hooker boots.

But I'm way too self-conscious to dress like that without a (special) reason, so jeans and whatever I first grab on my way past the wardrobe in the morning.
