I've heard of their wank but I've avoided most of it so far.

For me, I don't care who she ends up with, if she even does. My only beef will be in the 'how'. I really, really, really, don't want her to be put in the default girlfriend box.

I'd actually honestly prefer that they didn't pair her with anyone for fear of the default girlfriend box. They'd have to do it just right for it to work, I think.

But I am totally going to get lots of assholish enjoyment out of it if they do, since there will be inevitable wank regardless of who she ends up with. I'm kind of a terrible person like that.

Yeah, my problem is that when guy hero gets a girlfriend, he's still him and still a hero. When a chick her gets a boyfriend it's like she gets demoted. But this has everything to do with the writing of a couple rather than the fact they're a couple. So it's really all about how much do you trust the movie writer to do it right?

And I don't know.

Hmm, I think as long as you don't rub it in people's faces you're allowed a popcorn gif or two.

Yeah, that's the problem, really. It would be cool if they did it in a way that was just a line or some sort of interaction thrown in to let you know that she's together with whoever, but nothing overblown or over the top. I'm not sure I trust a lot of writers in Hollywood to do that, though. And Natasha has been kick ass thus far, so I'd rather they didn't ruin it.

Oh, no worries there. I don't really see the point of rubbing it in anyone's face. I just like to sit back and laugh at the fallout.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I also wish it was possible for a character, any female character, to have a full on fleshed out romance that made the dude her prize and not vice versa. I really don't expect this in Cap 2 though because, well, it's not Black Widow's movie.

Then I think we're fine. *Shrug* Maybe that makes me a bad person too. I dunno.

You and me both. I would love for that to happen with Natasha, but it doesn't seem likely. I would also really love a movie that just involves all the badass Avengers ladies kicking ass and saving dudes and taking names, but I highly doubt that will happen, either. Still, I will continue to dream of the day when I can watch a movie with Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Spiderwoman, Scarlet Witch, and Wasp all being BAMFs together.

...I would watch that movie. I would so, so, so, so, watch that movie. Many times. Also, old ass Peggy grandma is their version of Nick Fury.

Ahaha, I'm not really excited by ship sinking. I just don't mind if you are. Unlike a few people who have responded to your secret. But sure, I'll be a horrible person with you. I am in real life so I might as well be one here too.

I'd love to see some actual flirting between Bucky and Nat, but shoving her in the girlfriend box so quickly would be painful if handled poorly. :(

I think their relationship could be cute. To put her in the girlfriend box would not only do her character a disservice but also the entire relationship and Bucky too.

We just have to hope that the Cap 2 writers are good. IMDB has them listed as Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

FINGERS CROSSED! Because even when Bucky first came back, they were flirty, but not instantly an "item." I like the fact that Nat has to keep people at an arm's length and only trusts them to an extent.

I loved how they treated it in the comics. The movie deserves the same credibility.

Well, it did take two movies for Tony and Pepper to get together. So there's precedence that Marvel is willing to play the long game in romance.

It would be nice if they just alluded to their past connection and kept things open ended. A little bit of flirting, but nothing overt. Actually, if they did keep things open ended I think it would be best for the character and would please the majority of people on all sides of the shipping issue.
