I've heard of their wank but I've avoided most of it so far.

For me, I don't care who she ends up with, if she even does. My only beef will be in the 'how'. I really, really, really, don't want her to be put in the default girlfriend box.

I'd actually honestly prefer that they didn't pair her with anyone for fear of the default girlfriend box. They'd have to do it just right for it to work, I think.

But I am totally going to get lots of assholish enjoyment out of it if they do, since there will be inevitable wank regardless of who she ends up with. I'm kind of a terrible person like that.

I'd love to see some actual flirting between Bucky and Nat, but shoving her in the girlfriend box so quickly would be painful if handled poorly. :(

If she's going to hook up with anyone, I'd prefer Bucky. They have a really fantastic dynamic in the comics and it clears the way for my OTP.
That said, I'd prefer she stay single. It's just so refreshing to have an action lady who isn't paired off for once.

I'm always a little puzzled by secrets referring to all the "wank" from shippers in this fandom, since I haven't seen anything remotely wanky? I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I just wonder where this drama is supposedly going on.

Then again I haven't read the comics yet, so IDK how I feel about Natasha/Bucky. I don't like the idea in movie!verse, but then again it could surprise me. Who knows.

I really feel like Avengers deserves some sort of award. I've seen more rants about the fandom, more shipwars, more character bashing/apologizing, more misogyny, and more divisive secrets about comics vs movies than I've seen for any other fandom since HP. It's astonishing. :/

In conclusion: I proclaim Avengers fandom to be The Wankiest Fandom of 2012.

I've never known Clint/Natasha shippers to be wanky or irritating in the least, tbh. Also, they all seem veeerrrrry low-key, aware of the non-explicit, subtext-y nature of Clint and Nat's MCU "romance", and care more about Clint and Natasha doing awesome shit together than whether or not they're a romantic couple, so I honestly can't see there being a whole lot of "tears" and "rage".

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place, but I think it's more likely you're projecting your own desires onto a fandom contingent that you hate but have a hard time finding anything to dislike about.

There's a rumour floating around that says there will be some romance between Natasha and Clint in Captain America 2...
Not sure if I want. I'd prefer Bucky/Natasha (or better yet: Bucky/Natasha in a Black Widow solo movie) but it could be well done.

The moment the title for Captain America 2 came out, Tumblr went into melt-down. The fanwank going on between Clint/Natasha and Natasha/Bucky (two ships that have canon backgrounds) and Steve/Tony and Steve/Bucky was like someone handed me Christmas early. It was glorious if ever so head-desking.

So anything that contributes to the fanwank is a-okay with me *grabs the popcorn*
