It smacks of slutshamming as well. It doesn't matter how much or how little a woman is dressed she is -never- outright asking for sex. Just because someone finds her hot does not mean she now owes them sex. She could go to the damn con almost naked with star pasties and she still wouldn't be trolling for sex.

And damn it most female comic book characters ARE skimpily clad. In fact a good portion of them are. Maybe if he and others started drawing their female characters with more clothes female cosplayers would have more options.

It's a vicious cycle. "Oh, she wears these clothes because it's EMPOWERING! She's a superhero who can brenchpress the Taj Mahal and fly, but you know what really shows she's empowered? Cleavage."

But then when a normal woman wears it - "What an attention whore. She's only doing it to prey on these poor, witless boys and manipulate them. Whelp, back to drawing REAL empowered women!"
