I'm in the US also and I think an economic collapse is inevitable, but it won't happen in the next 20 years. Probably with the next 25 though. The loss of skilled labor jobs combined with the necessary debt incurred by getting a ~~useless piece of paper~~ degree and the younger generations' inability to start in any industry (never mind compete) due to everything from inexperience to diminished capacity for responsibility, will definitely drive the economy further down than it already is.
