(Anonymous) 2012-11-15 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)Basically some crew hired to film the final scenes of Series 5 posted on their Facebook a scene featuring a lORRY (WHICH IS A TRUCK) PASSING WHICH IMPLIES THE FINAL SCENE SHOWS MERLIN REINCARNATED/IMMORTALLY EXISTING IN PRESENT DAY.
Also Arthur apparently gets killed by Mordred. And Merlin may or may not reveal his magic literally 5 minutes before Arthur dies.
Fuck.

lmao, that best be a lie because FUCK that is AWFUL.
I'm a more casual viewer but even I would never forgive them for that shit.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-15 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)Apparently some writer said that Merlin is supposed to be the universe in which Camelot went wrong or something. Literally they wanted it to be a spin on the tale that results in fail. What. The. Hell.

Maybe it's a deliberate lie, yea. I'm going to believe that in the meantime.
For my sanity.no subject
Yeah, that is either a lie or some BS they just made up. (I'd actually watch the fuck out of that show, but it would have to be generally darker and more adult oriented the whole time, which clearly was not what Merlin was going for).

(Anonymous) 2012-11-15 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)I believe this is the last series seeing as the knights are already booking new work.
While the series was being filmed the writers and bbc discussed the possibility making a series of films to be released next year. Films that would start from the beginning, showing other parts of the tale, perhaps from a different perspective. If those are made then I doubt anyone from the current series will act in it. And without Colin and Bradley I don't want it. I have no problems with reincarnation, I just want a magic reveal too. I don't see the point in hinting at "the golden age of camelot" being along the lines of 2012.

Maybe they could do that thing where the heroes are brought into modern times, live there and then are brought back to the past to fix it and live happily ever after there? I seem to remember a lot of older shows doing that (like Xena, though I don't remember the exact details) and Merlin is kind of campy, it would fit the tone of the series.
