Well, there's that ending to Mass Effect 3 that I'm still getting over.... :'(

Seriously, I don't want to write an essay here but the series had great writing then it all went to shit. Further, you didn't really see your choices matter much outside of war assets. The extended cut helped a little, but couldn't erase all the WTFery.

I got into Mass Effect through the controversy generated by the ending of ME3. Even as a newcomer, I could see what was wrong with ending the way they did after how the two previous games and most of the third were so reliant on choices and being able to save the day your own way no matter what. (Especially when a couple of enterprising modders demonstrated how much better the endings were if they just took out the Starchild. Why were they so married to such a failure of a concept?)

As a fellow Mass Effect fan (and BioWare fan in general), I don't see anything wrong with complaining about the ending. If it didn't work for you (and it didn't for A LOT of people), it didn't. I love the series as a whole (LOVE), but thinking about the ending always ruins the mood for me.
