Re: Anyone else have things they're pissed off about but not for the reasons people think?

My weight is everyone's business apparently. People think they can put their hands on me and pick me up. They're not even consistent in their criticism. I'm either fat and need to diet or I'm anorexic and should eat more. But I'm not pissed off "because it's my body and you should deal" but because I'm actually very worried about my weight. I'm unwillingly losing weight and I really shouldn't be. I've been eating more to make up for it but it's not working. If I lose any more weight I'm going to have to see the doctor because something's wrong.

But no, let's add more stress by schooling me about how my body isn't skinny/fat enough.

It must really suck that on top of worrying about your health, you've got people giving their opinion when it's not wanted.

I hope you feel better soon and get to the cause of what's going on. :(

Is there any possibility you may have picked up a tapeworm or something similar? D: Unexpected weight loss is definitely a potentially scary thing! The human body is not meant to lose weight suddenly while it's continuing to consume food!

I hope you're weight levels out and that you're okay! If you've lost more than 10 pounds, you should definitely try and get to a doctor. ):

No, it's not. Someone else suggested it might be my thyroid. Personally, I'm going to wait a little longer, eat more, do less, and see what happens.

Actually, due to where my weight started I'm definitely going to have to go to the doctor before ten pounds. Because then I would 100 pounds, which is way too low for my height. I keep trying to get back to 120, where I was a year and a half ago. It's just not working.

But yeah, I take my health very seriously so if I don't start really improving soon I'm going to go in.

Thank you for your concern.

TW EDs and numbers and sizes and shit

Aw fuck honey. :(

I sympathize. When I first got put on birth control, I did not react well to the formulation I was scripted. I ended up basically throwing up anything I ate. The only things I could keep down were frozen waffles and Dannon brand yogurt "smoothies". I lost over 20lbs in a month, and I look back at photos of myself from then and realize I was fucking gaunt and sickly looking.

Of course EVERYONE either told me I needed to "keep up the good work!!!" or "wow you look awesome". And enough people told me I still needed to lose more weight even though I was a size 4-6 had me trying to cut down on what I ate even still. >_<

Soo, I really really fucking hear you. I was very worried about my health but, hell, people basically even told me to ignore it because I was losing weight and that was good and obviously losing weight was worth whatever might be wrong. (Which in my case was just that the hbc didn't agree with me but SO VERY FUCKED UP.)

If you're able to see a doc I would just to make sure everything is okay. I see you mention in one of your comments that it might be thyroid, and I was thinking that too. Thyroid can be checked with some blood tests and is really probably worth doing sooner rather than later. If you're eating within a normal range (for your weight range I would estimate 1500 calories) and still losing... you really really do want to see a doc.

Good luck. *hugs offered*

Oh wow, that sounds absolutely horrible. It's just so fucked up. The sad part is that most of these people aren't bad people, they just have no idea what they're saying does or means.

Thank you for telling me this and for the advice. *hugs*

Yeah -- they were all very nice people who genuinely thought they were being supportive! The amount of internalized fatphobia is just, wow. :-\
