So do these pony fic actually portray pony sex? Like when you say slashing or shipping or whatevs are you talking sex and all or what.

I am so confused by pony fandom when it comes to things like shipping.

I know there's a lot of porny pony art floating around, so I'm guessing the fic is the same.

I like shipping (Fluttershy/Rarity <3), but I have no interest in reading about them having sex. I just like the light, fluffy romance (or even just BFF fic).

Oh there is. Rule34 and all. But I can only stomach PG fluff, MAYBE a tiny bit of PG-13 with my ships. But that's it. Unless I draw them as people. Then I'll get them saucy. Otherwise? No.

From what I understand, roughly 1/3 of the pony fandom is, yeah, completely and unabashedly into the full-on pony sex portrayal, with a heavy dollop of "OH I GUESS WE WATCH THE SHOW FOR THE 'PLOT' HAHA GET IT WINKWINK NUDGENUDGE" thrown in just to make sure that everyone is in on the "joke."

...not that there's anything WRONG with that. Honest. If pony-porn is what you want, I'm not gonna judge! I'm simply telling the above Anon what I've observed from my time in the MLP:FiM fandom.

I have a really good gen/adventure/friendship fic rec if you want! There are some romantic undertones but so far (I'm halfway through) no sex. (And I don't think there's gonna be any because my friend who finished it and then recced it to me hates reading porn)

only semi-related, "Equus" is a BL manga about centaurs with centaurs and centaurs with humans, and while it's mostly fairly tame, there are definitely a couple of stories (it's an anthology of different stories all by the same author) do have sex (one's a threesome between two centaurs and a human man who wanders upon them having sex). It's...interesting.
