I would have watched the fuck outta that. Multicultural team, Mercury in a flying wheelchair, Western tweaks to the sailor motif (ngl I dig the magical flying sailboards), live-action/animation blend! And the plot threads given recently sounded like they could go somewhere, albeit somewhere pretty damn different from the show we know and love.

also, a couple shameful notes: first, I kind of wonder how they'd have handled Tuxedo Mask, second, was I the only one to get Baby-sitters' Club vibes from the live-action clips?

(I would have been interested to see where the concept went, too, but I'm quite glad they didn't make it in the 90s. I wouldn't mind seeing it *now,* honestly, now that we've got better animation technology and that they'd probably ditch the stupid live-action thing. Mostly I just want to see Mercury in her flying wheelchair. That would be rad as hell.)

I gotta admit I really liked the wheelchair thing.

I thought it was an interesting concept. I really like the idea of a superhero with disabilities that aren't magically cured, kind of like Oracle (who, while she mostly exercised her heroism with Super Information Science Skills, could still kick anybody's ass from her chair).

Basically, I want Saban Mercury to be like Oracle, except with rockets on her chair. The rockets wouldn't have made sense for Babs, but they would be pretty fucking awesome in Sailor Moon.

(I once had a Senshi OC who lost her legs in some great Sailor War, and her chair was basically a very small one-person tank that shot magnetic energy beams. I kind of want to go back to that story now, it was a lot of fun to write.)
