YES. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PUNK ROCK. Plus it could have paved the way for a Power Rangers crossover, and that would have made my childhood heart sing.

Where the hell did that come from it looks horrible.

I gotta admit I do wonder where "Saban Moon" would have gone.

As for the fuku(?) designs I have to admit I got disappointed with the senshi designs especially later in the series when we get all these amazingly different sailor senshi like the animates, and the earth senshi were basically color coded for your convenience.

This never fails to crack me up. I wish we could see the pilot.

I can never watch that thing without turning the sound off for some reason. I've never seen the image in the secret though. I was wondering if it came from the trailer, another source, was just really horrible fan art, or something.

The reflection makes me think it's an animation cel.

A bunch of cels and the script from the pilot have been turning up on Ebay in the last few weeks. It's been interesting to finally see what things could've ended up like.

I always laugh at this. Oh maaan.

I kinda get the feeling it would've been some weird mishmash of Power Rangers and Jem and the Holograms...don't know how I feel about that.

As for the designs, I never had an issue with the Sailor fuku because they all had little differences with their uniforms to make them unique (the different boots and earrings, some having back bows that match their skirt instead of the front bow).

Then I saw the Eternal uniforms in the manga. :/

I think the entire premise would have done better without the... live action girls dancing around for no reason... WTF was that? The live action might have been ok, but the trailer made it look so unnecessary and stupid.

My feelings on the fukus exactly. Saturn's first is my favorite of the earth senshi. They were similar but still individual, and then the manga erased all that. -_-'...

One of my old sailor moon books had the original designs for all the outfits for the scouts and they actually looked really cool because they were all different (and not just in color). I think the animation company had to change them to make them easier to animate. Here's what they looked like:

I've actually seen these around before, and I like almost all of them. Except Jupiter. She's just got too many weird cutouts in the clothing, and one too many colors mucking it up.

I'd like to think she'd still be my favorite despite the fashion disaster, but I'm thankful I never have to find out.

Just for reference, the senshi designs weren't really Naoko's fault but she was told her original designs were too complicated.

Look up the original designs and they are much more individual and more detailed, and if you think about the budget for the first Sailormoon anime there is no way they could have pulled off those designs (the Sailormoon anime art didn't start getting detailed until later seasons when they had a better budget/better animators.)

I liked the anime fukus just fine, the only thing that ever bugged me fuku-wise is how when they all got their Supers form the outer senshi lost a lot of cool details. ESPECIALLY Saturn. I love her original outfit it's so cool, her supers form wasn't nearly as awesome.

I would have watched the fuck outta that. Multicultural team, Mercury in a flying wheelchair, Western tweaks to the sailor motif (ngl I dig the magical flying sailboards), live-action/animation blend! And the plot threads given recently sounded like they could go somewhere, albeit somewhere pretty damn different from the show we know and love.

also, a couple shameful notes: first, I kind of wonder how they'd have handled Tuxedo Mask, second, was I the only one to get Baby-sitters' Club vibes from the live-action clips?

(I would have been interested to see where the concept went, too, but I'm quite glad they didn't make it in the 90s. I wouldn't mind seeing it *now,* honestly, now that we've got better animation technology and that they'd probably ditch the stupid live-action thing. Mostly I just want to see Mercury in her flying wheelchair. That would be rad as hell.)

I don't think I would have been interested in that when I was a kid. I didn't like live-action things.

But now I would totally watch it. It looks hilarious.
