Where the hell did that come from it looks horrible.

I gotta admit I do wonder where "Saban Moon" would have gone.

As for the fuku(?) designs I have to admit I got disappointed with the senshi designs especially later in the series when we get all these amazingly different sailor senshi like the animates, and the earth senshi were basically color coded for your convenience.

I can never watch that thing without turning the sound off for some reason. I've never seen the image in the secret though. I was wondering if it came from the trailer, another source, was just really horrible fan art, or something.

A bunch of cels and the script from the pilot have been turning up on Ebay in the last few weeks. It's been interesting to finally see what things could've ended up like.

I kinda get the feeling it would've been some weird mishmash of Power Rangers and Jem and the Holograms...don't know how I feel about that.

As for the designs, I never had an issue with the Sailor fuku because they all had little differences with their uniforms to make them unique (the different boots and earrings, some having back bows that match their skirt instead of the front bow).

Then I saw the Eternal uniforms in the manga. :/

I think the entire premise would have done better without the... live action girls dancing around for no reason... WTF was that? The live action might have been ok, but the trailer made it look so unnecessary and stupid.

My feelings on the fukus exactly. Saturn's first is my favorite of the earth senshi. They were similar but still individual, and then the manga erased all that. -_-'...

They wanted to show how happy the girls were saving the universe from evil~ Because, y'know, Sailor Moon was always lighthearted and silly. Except when it wasn't.

Saturn's first design was so pretty. The sleeves, those boots! *_* Plus she had her glaive, which is always awesome.

Come to think of it, all of the Outer's talisman artifacts were one way they really became individualized. I can't help wondering what the Inner Senshi's talismans would have been if they had them...

I was okay with the Amazon Senshi using the design; it would have been their first fuku, before they began to power up and possibly become more unique as they matured.

But as the final level for the girls? Exactly alike, save for their colors? With bubble sleeves that seem to have no purpose (the other ones seems more armor-ish) and weird non-existant ribbons that looked awful compared to the wider ones?

Nope. Pass. Not part of my Sailor headcanon.

Yeah, and I think it worked with the Amazon Senshi because of all the balls and circular objects going on with their arc. The bubble sleeves on the rest of the girls? My least favorite part of the entire outfit.

It's like they were becoming progressively smoother, more organic. (The manga illustrations of Super Sailor Moon are some of my most favorite.) And then that all gets ditched for the stiff, clunky, bubble outfits? Ugh.

And speaking of the girl's outfits, have you seen Naoko's original illustrations for them? I think it was in the back of one of the original Tokyopop volumes. They're a bit cluttered and obviously some of her first work, but I rather like them as a starting point for more unique planet-centric outfits.
