Right, and most of these same "nice people" sent death threats upon one person -whom they saw as the scapegoat/reason- over the editing of a background character who, let's be real here, was pretty much a stereotype of an intellectually disabled person. To the point where people from the show -including the writer of the episode that got edited in question- had to step in and tell people to back off. Yet they still kept harassing that one person.

Bronies are some of the nicest people, indeed.

In all seriousness, I get that they're not all bad people, but you are familiar with the old saw about one (or more) rotten apple(s) ruining a whole barrel, right?

I heard there was going to be a 'Derpy' episode this season. The wank over her being called Ditzy Doo will be hilarious.

Even if you don't see the unedited version of the character as an offensive stereotype, it's really really really fucking horrible for that many people to jump on a person, especially the way that they did, for not liking something about the show.

It's very hard not to. I know the VA said she thought she was voicing a boy, but....it's really obvious. And 'derp' is a negative comments /because/ it means someone who is mentally handicapped. So yeah. She/he had every right not to like the show and to get it changed. MLPFIM is NOT and will NEVER be a show for adult males and their internet culture. It's a show for children/little girls. I really hope they stop throwing them a bone, it only validates their entitlement. ;/

Even if the VA did think she was voicing a boy, she based the voice on a kid she knew who was "as slow as a tree", iirc.
