They're still speaking English in England. The connotation of 'cunt' = 'vagina' is still there even in England. Therefore, when used in a non-reclamatory or purely-anatomical-descriptor way, it's still a sexist slur.

Hope that helps, shithole.

Oh, nonnie. Won't you ever learn? Resorting to name calling and telling people that you hope they have their face ripped off with a rusty nail is no way to go about things.

yes, but are you using shithole in a purely-anatomical-descriptor way, Miss Canada?

But what if it is not considered an insult? Honest question. Cunt=vagina, but why should cunt=insult? People here are saying that it's not an insult where they live.

If one holds the sapir whorf hypothesis as inarguably true, and far reaching.

It's very easy to make an argument that this is not the case, and that in practical meaning the reference to the vagina, and the reference as an insult are entirely divorced etymologically and conceptually in most peoples minds.

It's an insult because people have been taught it's insulting. In casual usage people do not consider, or are influenced by the connection between the two, ergo it does not contribute to sexism in culture.
