I agree, he was evil. But the sad thing is was that he was a human just like us; with at least one loving parent, and his own hopes and aspirations. But through his own choices and convictions, he became one of the most reviled figures in humanities brief history.

The horror of the Nazis, for me, is that it wasn't Hitlers choices and convictions alone that put him in power, but the choices and convictions of those around him. He was just one man. It took countless just like him - and worse - to put him where he was and let him stay there, to carry out his orders of their own free will. Scary as shit.
