SJW code says you can never forgive what somebody has said about anything ever. The fact they haven't killed themselves yet is proof they weren't really sorry.

Why should I "forgive" someone who votes for Romney and with that against gay and women rights?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-02 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Some people just liked Romney's views on the economy better. I have a friend who was pissed with Romney because of the stuff he said about women's/gay rights, but at the end of the day, she felt Obama was hurting the economy and voted for Romney.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-02 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of people were also very upset with Obama for signing the NDAA into law.

This election really, really sucked.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-02 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
So your friend is just stupid and easily swayed by buzzwords and not misogynystic and homophobic? You should get new friends.

So if some time goes by, and she comes out and says, "wow, I can't believe I voted for Romney! That was a huge mistake! I will never again vote for someone with such a platform," you will not forgive her?

[personal profile] intrigueing 2012-12-02 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, no. I wouldn't vote for a Republican president in a million years, but wow, no. The president is not a monarch and an election is not a moral referendum -- a lot of people hate Romney's social platform but voted for him anyway because they assumed that he will be able to help the economy in the way they want, and at the same time assumed he won't be able to magically set women's and gay rights back a hundred years.

Now, whether they're right about that assumption or not is fairly irrelevant, since most people aren't political experts.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-02 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
We're not dealing with a logical person, here. We're dealing with one of those lovely folks who has given completely into his/her cognitive illusions and who thinks that his/her party can do no wrong and that everyone on the other side is stupid and/or evil.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
You shouldn't vote at all if you only vote party lines.

Because that's not the only reason people voted for Romney.

For a lot of people, voting for the candidate who in their opinion was the lesser of two evils was a thing, and the state of the economy was pretty darn important; they didn't have to necessarily agree with every single one of his views, they only had to believe that he could do a better job than the other guy. Voting for Romney isn't some immortal sin that can never be forgiven.

Do you really vehemently hate nearly half the country and think they have personally wronged you somehow?

Something tells me you take politics a little too personally

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
THE PERSONAL IS POLITICAL. THE PERSONAL IS POLITICAL. THE PERSONAL IS POLITICAL.

I think what insanenoodlyguy meant was that this stupid quote from MJH came from years ago and today she seems to have grown up a little. That said, SJW types wouldn't care about the latter, only the former.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-02 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
da

The depressing part is that if someone really did go and kill themselves over SJW bullying them into submission (which would be a horrible thing and I hope it never ever happens), the SJWs would find a way to twist it into something "they did it for the attention" or "they just wanted to be a martyr" or something fucking horrible and heartless like that.

So you can't win. Ever.

The closest thing I could think of is if you debased yourself and pledged your eternal loyalty to them, and acted as their mindless drone or knight, and even then I can totally see them thinking of you as a favored pet and not a human being.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
because racism, homophobia, and misogyny have never pushed people into suicide.

Aren't there still people who hate Jeremy Renner with every fiber of their beings for something he said - in character - a decade ago?

We do not forget. We do not forgive. Even to our own detriment.

[personal profile] insanenoodlyguy 2012-12-03 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes there are.

those people are extra stupid since most of them never even saw the full quote.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
That's hilarious! Hilariously sad, unfortunately.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Why should people be forgiven if they haven't said they were sorry, let alone demonstrated an understanding of what was wrong with what they did in the first place?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
pfft, sjws don`t care about any of that!

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe some religions call for forgiving people regardless.

Except when you SJW's DO get an apology, no matter how it's worded, it's ALWAYS a "faux apology." Regardless of if that person really is sincere.

And if intent or intend if EVER mentioned, you bring in that "intent isn't magic" bullshit.

Sorry, not everyone ever is a fucking mind reader. B/

LMAO! Nice one.
