What exactly did he sell-out?

Calling him a sell-out implies that he abandoned his principles for money, but as far as I'm aware he hasn't abandoned anything - he's always been a teen sensation trying to make as much money as he can before his fame runs out.

I don't really see anything wrong with that. He's not stealing from people.

Not that he's untouchable, but that the anger is fueled by impotent jealousy. Unless you listen to Disney radio and nothing else, he's difficult to avoid - so why would people bother with the extreme spite?

because his music sucks ass, and it's depressing that music which sucks such metric fucktons of ass is so popular; because he's a tinfoilhatter who think rape's 'meant to be' -- 'Everything happens for a reason!'

It might be, it might not be. Could be hype backlash. And about the extreme spite - because they can? Why do you care how they feel about it? As long as they aren't sending him death threats or trying to seek him out and hurt him, it's nothing to worry about. Plus people like to let off some steam sometimes and rich, famous people are well known, thus easy targets.

Ah, this is very true. No one wants to admit it, though. It's more comfortable to hide behind insults.

Though, I still think he's a shitty singer.

This. I'm not a fan of his music or anything, but man he made so much money. I kind of respect him for that.

The death threats are excessive though, as are the insults. Besides, if you honestly hate him so much, how hard is he avoid? I think I've listened to maybe two Justin Bieber songs in full. Not the end of the world.
