and i mean it is weird. in the first bioshock, the box art was just a big daddy. big daddies are integral to not just the game but the actual bioshock universe as a whole, so it was fitting. bioshock 2, it was the protag, but the protag was interesting (i thought jack was interesting too, don't get me wrong, but i liked that he wasn't on the box for bioshock 1). further, the protag's design was also integral to the story. your existence as a big daddy plays a huge role.
but because the protag here seems so plain, and his design unimportant to the story, it doesn't seem fitting to have him there when this addition to the franchise has changed everything. we're in the sky. the plot and the characters have all changed completely. it's ridiculous.
and while i like him well enough at face value, i do see why some folks, though not the majority, would be upset at how generic the protag is, rather than him merely being on the box art. to be honest though i think most people don't care he's generic at all.
