Damn. My mom once did this too when I was very little. She thankfully was otherwise a stellar mom and never did anything like it again (I was too little to notice or remember what stressed her out so bad to actually do it and I don't even want to ask what pushed her to it; the one time I brought it up she told me she didn't mean it and that she wished she had never told me that), but it haunted me for a good long while.

Sadly, my mom...wasn't. She was actually getting her tubes tied when she found out she was pregnant and for whatever reason decided to keep me, so I really *was* an accident, even though my dad [they were already married] was happy enough from what I'm told.

I'm not saying my mom was horrible! She did try but...she did [still does, really] blame me for some things, and it couldn't have helped that she was an accident and her mom wasn't exactly nice about the fact that she [grandma] feels my mom ruined her life.
