My mom once said to me, "Have you ever seen a fat actress?" For some reason this stuck with me across the years. I don't think I said anything at the time, but if I had, it wouldn't have made much difference.

More recently (as in, this morning), my supervisor at my early childhood education field placement said, in the evaluation she sent to my professor, that my interactions seemed scripted and unnatural, and that I shouldn't be working with children. I've received glowing letters of recommendation from similar jobs and it just really hurt to hear that. But I'm not sure it counts because I don't know whether or not I was intended to read that.
