What if I want it to go back to it's pre-Reformation roots where it was a 12 day festival from Christmas to Twelfth Night/Epiphany full of raucous merriment where the class system was allowed to be turned on its ass?

I'd trade this Sept-Dec glut of commercialism for the old fashioned 12 day romp any day.

That sounds wonderful, actually. There's never enough merriment in modern day Christmas.
