oh wow, I have been enlightened. There are a bunch of subpar games where I can play is female. God forbid I want a fully made immersive FPS adventure or something. Clearly as a female all I want to play is Barbia, a bunch of japanese games Ms Pac-Man

Big whoop, you're a woman who is okay with it so anyone who doesn't like it can sit down and shut up, m'right? Shut up and don't talk about it? Don't bring attention to it? Here's a barbie game, go sit in the corner with farmville?
Guess what. I have a problem with being forced to play a man ALL THE TIME. A 10 page where the majority a children's games versus thousands upon thousands of games where the man is a default white caucasian male lead because writing a woman is "too hard" (thanks Alex Hutchinson).

Or they don't write female characters/different races because they don't want to risk "insulting" the target audience...but they'll happily write those characters in sexist/racist background roles.

Just not as a human being main character.
