UNPOPULAR OPINION

The 2011 remake of Fright Night. To me it was everything a vampire movie should be; the vampires were the ultimate predator and undeniably terrifying. It was the perfect antidote to some of the Twilight-fever going on.

Also David Tennant wearing leather pants, pulling on his crotch, and generally being a drunken horndog, all while using his Doctor Who accent.

I prefer the original Fright Night, but I greatly enjoyed Colin Ferrell's hamminess in the remake. That man chewed the scenery like a pro. It was a fun film, overall.

See, that's a remake that I thought could've have been good, but was completely and utterly disappointing to me when I finally saw it.

Agreed. Well...no. Well...kinda. I didn't like either version but David Tennant made the remake worth watching once.

I saw it just for Tennant, negl. Him pulling at his crotch was my favorite part of the movie xD It was pretty fun, though I don't have any urge to rewatch it.

If David Tenant had been the star kicking Colin Farrell's ass, it would have been a perfect movie. Instead a bunch of dumb kids kept taking the camera away from them.

Aside from the "stab him with the super-SPECIAL stake to make everything go away!" thing I really liked the Fright Night remake, too. And I liked that David Tenant didn't die (but loved his slow turn), so I guess even the stake thing was OK. But I was kind of put off by this version of Evil Ed. I did like their fight, though. And I really liked the final fight with Jerry and the fire and whatnot. So I guess it's kind of a toss up for me. I can't say it's BETTER than the original, but it's very entertaining in different ways.

Ed was one of my favorite parts of the original, and one of the things that I think they screwed up the most in the remake. I agree that the remake did have a lot of enjoyable things about it, though. It was different enough that I can kind of separate the two in my mind.
