Oh, I do this and I'm not even that secretive about it. In fact, some people know that this is a way to get me to watch genres I don't usually (like romantic comedies)- and they therefore lure me with the promise of hot boylove. That and singing, which is probably why I watch Glee.

what film is the first image from? I recognise the other two.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I think the first is Brokeback Mountain?

I never saw I Love You Philip Morris (I think that's the name?) because my 'yay! Canonoical m/m relationships, with kissing!' response was superceded by my 'for some reason the thought of Jim Carrey and sex in the same sentence give me cold shudders'

Other than that, I do this too OP :-)

I was unsure of watching it for the same reason, but did and loved it. The details are a little fuzzy now, but I know I found it laugh out loud hilarious, and thought it was strangely touching too, in a pretty fucked up way. Heh.

I was genuinely pleasantly shocked that Jim Carey pulled that movie off though it feels like he was probably reined in on the editing floor in some places.

Great movie. I wish I hadn't dragged my feet on watching it for so long.

Also I would do such things to Ewan's character...

I recommend Y Tu Mama Tambien. The movie itself is great, and the make-out scene is hot as hell.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I recommend No Night Is Too Long and Bedrooms and Hallways.

Bedrooms and Hallways is awesome! James Purefoy is always fun, and Kevin McKidd is wonderful.

tl;dr: I second this rec!

Spartacus!

Why hello there, you must be... Every Single Slash Fangirl Ever. How the heck is the fact that girls like to watch dudes makeout & get it on with other dudes a secret?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-27 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
because it's ostensibly pretty shallow and fueling the fire of people who think all slash fangirls just fetishize gay relationships?

This is only vaguely related but every time I read The Picture of Dorian Gray I kind of die a little inside because poor Basil is like the only guy in the book who does absolutely nothing wrong and look what that gets him.

Which doesn't sound related but I watched the 2009 movie version of this recently and while I knew they'd put in a Basil/Dorian kiss, I had no idea about the next ~30 seconds after that. Cue me turned on and slightly mortified that my dad is sitting next to me. Granted, the rest of the movie was a little mortifying to watch with one's parents, but my dad is an alien from the 1950s sometimes.

[personal profile] penoftruthiness 2012-12-27 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Haha "alien from the 1950s" is the best way to describe my father ever.

ahahahahaha oh girl. let me look through my files~

hokay: Weekend, Maurice, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Latter Days, Before Night Falls, Wilde, Kaboom, Shame, Total Eclipse, Patrik 1.5, Bent, Private Romeo, Soldier's Girl, Wet Hot American Summer. You should probably at least check out the imdb summary for them first though, cause some are incredibly sad. For funny and light and not ACTUALLY having dude-kissing shots that I remember, but delightful movies about fabulous drag queens, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and also To Wong Foo.

if you're down to get on tv shows for this too, watch Game of Thrones, Spartacus, Oz, Torchwood, Sirens, and (perhaps obviously) Queer as Folk.

(I could also provide a lesbian-movie list! There's less, though. Womp.)

Just Friends? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_Friends%3F) is both hot and funny and uplifting all in a short. It's a "sequel" to Boy Meets Boy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_Meets_Boy_(film)) which has no kissing but is adorable.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-28 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Maurice doesn't have a HAPPY ending but if I remember correctly, there is some kissing!

Cambridge Spies is a miniseries and not a movie, but it's pretty fun and has multiple gay guys.

All the Queen's Men...may stretch the definition of 'hot guys' but guys in drag? Two of them are gay? There's kissing.

Also I second a rec further up the thread for Bedrooms and Hallways.
