I don't draw anymore, but when I did I always looked at a source. Without a source it was impossible. I'm envious of those people, too.

No suggestions though...sorry. :/

This is the point where I make angry noises at popular media.

Maybe.

Do you hate your own body as in you hate how you look, etc., or do you hate having a female body, any female body, in general?

Re: Motivation!

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Positive reinforcement. If I do this thing, I get to buy myself the book I've been wanting. If I get that chore out of the way, I can go to #funplace over the weekend.

It helps that I'm a sort of repressed person who feels guilty about doing things for myself. Knowing I've earned it gives me permission to treat myself.

Hey second post, go away! ;)

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's what I was thinking as well (hello, hair twin!). It's probably uncomfortable and probably a bit itchy at the base of her head, her collar looks pretty tight.

Anyone who pays attention to marathons could have predicted the outcome...Kenyans never lose races!

Ugh, yes. I think sometimes it's just because fans are young and inexperienced, but I really do want to beat people over the head when they want to act like owning a DVD boxset of EVA makes them an expert on Japanese culture. The otaku thing is especially hilarious. Go to Japan and tell someone you're an otaku and see their reaction, I dare you. Also the insistence of some people that anime's not for kids!!!1 No, actually, it's like Western animation and a lot of it is targeted at kids. But just because it's aimed at kids, it's not like you can't enjoy it as an adult.

This is a really hopeful secret.

LOL at all the Americans in this thread being "amazed" by Brit-centrism.

Welcome to the real world, where other nations exist.

*gives you all the applause* good for you anon! It's definitely the right thing to do and you're gonna be fine if you stay this strong.

New Year's Resolutions!

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
You know you want to. I'll go first:

- Not have a break down during my new degree
- Make new friends
- Keep up my exercise routine

What do you want to change in your lives this year, FS?

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Aw. I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm happy you've found a way to enjoy your sexuality anyway. In an ideal world you'd get help with your body issues but I can understand if it's not something you want or need to confront, especially considering it seems you've found something that works. Good luck in the future!

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
hahahahaha I sort of feel you. I like my family but only in small doses, and when I'm away I miss them.
Summer breaks are the worst, I'm happy I don't have to go to school in the summer but I become bored and when I'm bored I'm completely depressed.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
...well hello, there <3

i guess i'm gonna go watch the hobbit after all

[personal profile] baxaronn 2013-01-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
This might be unfair of me, but I automatically assume that everyone who thinks Chidori is boring/obnoxious has no experience with mental illness or trauma. I'm not saying she was well developed, because she wasn't, and it is total bullshit that she doesn't get any kind of resolution because Junpei's is more important.

But there's so much hurt bundled into her small amount of screen time. I don't understand how people can avoid seeing it unless they've never been there.

This is especially true of the "unrealistic romance" bit. I guess you've never sabotaged your chances of getting something nice because you felt you didn't deserve it or because it scared you, OP.

1. I don't get it. Your favorite anime characters are faux-Americans?

2. As of movie 3, she's still useless. Useless fan service pilot!

Congratulations, I guess.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry that that happened to you. *hugs* It's a crying shame that so many people's first times follow this kind of narrative -- something I feel like more complete sexual education could combat very effectively if people weren't so goddamn scared of teenagers knowing things.

It doesn't sound like you're particularily interested in repeating the experience, ever, but if you ever do decide to jump back in, I'd reccomend finding someone who'll just do things like fingering/going down on you/bringing you off manually the first time (or few). Take the focus off PIV.

Aw, my big crush from school last year turned 20 today too. I hope your day has been awesome :)

Re: How do people draw things?

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the repeated practice, as well as a basic understanding of how things generally relate to each other (ie, a human hand is about as big as the face, foot as long as the forearm, torso as long as the thigh, etc...), and some people have very good visual memories. It takes practice to draw from memory, though, and there's nothing wrong with using a visual source when you need it!

I know there are some tutorials for drawing on deviantArt, and big craft stores (I don't know if you have a Micheal's where you live?) often have drawing books for various things (one for nature, one for animals, one for people, etc...). Sorry I don't have any specific recommendations, but maybe there's an art community around where you could get some feedback on techniques and whatnot? Hope you can realize your dream!

Holy shit your fonts gave me such flashbacks to fucking around on the computer as a child I didn't even read your secret.
