I'm loving this thread because nobody's like OMG GROSS HOW DARE YOU but if the sex of the participants was swapped everyone would think you were gross

For what it's worth this is kind of my thing and has been since I started reading porn as a teenager, I just never got sick of reading it (the age gap thing, I don't have a preference for the gender/sex of either person in the pairing)

Not trying to create wank, I'm speaking from experience. A lot of my favorite ships are ones where there's an older man with a teenage girl and even AFTER EXPLICITLY STATING MY GENDER AND THE FACT THAT I IDENTIFY WITH THE YOUNGER PERSON IN THE SCENARIO I have had the most horrible shit assumed about me, said about me, etc.

Maybe instead of "wank" you meant "thoughtful discussion about gender roles as they relate to shipping/porn"

Yes. This. Thank you. I'm a female who adores imagining myself being in the role of the older part of a big age gap f/f relationship. (the younger being closer to 16-17 not 8ish). It's the innocence, sweetness and inexperience. By no means ever would i EVER transfer this into reality ... other than role play with a consensual adult.

Fantasies are fantasies, it does not mean one actually even wants to try to make them reality.

Yeah, I think that's what a lot of people don't get about fantasies like that--it's generally less about the age gap than it is about the dynamics and the qualities and tropes associated with the different roles. I'm sure there are people who carry that over or think that it would transfer into real life in the same way that it operates in fiction, but I think for the majority of people that's just not the case.
