and if somebody has their tumblr theme not showing the tags then they suck anyways.

personally i sometimes ramble about some little thing semi-related to the post in the tags for my own amusement and that way nobody else has to get bothered with it but my followers.
I do understand doing it for this reason, I just don't like it when people use tags like that constantly. (Because like I said, then you can't search anything.)
I don't have my tags on my tumblr but that's more about me being lost over how tumblr works than anything else. I'll have to look at some themes.

how can you not search anything? if it's a reblog then those wouldn't come up searching through those tags regardless.
even if your theme doesn't show tags by default on the main blog page they should show on the individual post's page, if you needed to search your own tags for something.

Not that I make many comments on posts anyway, because tumblr is so fast-paced that if I did that I'd spend all day on them, but I guess I'll just stop commenting altogether. :/

(Anonymous) 2013-01-07 12:01 am (UTC)(link)(A lot of tumblr culture is a direct effect of how shitty tumblr is as a platform, I've found.)

If people get complicated with their tags I guess I can see where that could become a problem.

It's no big deal, I don't really care, but it annoys me a little with how my list will populate with stuff I've literally used ONCE while NOT populating with tags that I use all the freaking time. FOR EXAMPLE: since I also tag all my Homestuck stuff with "homestuck," I was happy when it came up as my top hit for when I typed "ho," but then after a while it started coming up with "homumado" whenever I typed those two letters instead, and when I was puzzled to what that even referred to and did a dedicated search on my Tumblr, it turned out that I'd used "homumado" literally only THREE times, as a shorthand way to refer to homura x madoka, a Madoka Magica pairing I like. I ended up having to remove those tags from the old posts just because it annoyed me so much how "homumado" showed up before "homestuck" EVERY TIME even though it's not even alphabetically before that!
So Annoying!!!
