Man. That was the woooorst time for me. Actually, the worst time was the half an hour before my defense. I literally thought I was going to pass out from sheer terror. Good luck with your edits!

Yeah, I'm currently distracting myself with bad TV, reading too much, and eating lots of terrible food. It's kind of working? I'm sort of afraid I'll get to the meeting and they'll be like "THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN" and then I will have to fall to the floor and cry, lol. Mostly I'm just glad to at least have a draft done, though, since I am horrible at self-motivation and time management and I didn't think it would ever actually happen.

People keep asking me if I'm planning on a PhD next and I can only laugh a bit hysterically in answer.

I'm sorry, is this the ghost of me from like a month ago. Because man was I there. I walked into my defense with barely hearing anything from my advisers except to schedule the defense and they were late and I thought it was because they HATED it and they only called me there to tear it apart. But, my defense actually went ridiculously well. My main adviser had already moved on from my thesis and wanted to start planning the next stage of my research. Yikes.

I was so happy to have a draft done I bought myself a large bottle of vodka and drank it alone in my room while reading fanfiction.

And yeah...people ask me that and I'm like GOD NO. I never want to research anything ever again. I just want to burn things.

Oh, booze! I knew something was missing from my distraction equation. I do believe a trip to the liquor store tomorrow is in order. That's awesome that your defense went so well! I hope the next phase in your research goes as well, too (if you're continuing with it now that your thesis is done/you haven't already done it, that is).

I hear you on the burning things. I've gotten to the point where I don't want to have to even look at another journal article (unless it's for fun and not for an actual research project) for at least another year. If I ever do decide to do a PhD, I suspect the decision process will involve unhealthy amounts of drugs and/or ridiculous bribery that's probably not actually possible in the real world.
