Exactly. I don't mind my parents not being interested in my fandoms, but constantly telling me that TV shows and movies are all stupid and that it's ridiculous to be so invested in them (even though they haven't actually WATCHED any of those shows and movies and don't know if they're any good) is just hurtful. It's just a dickish thing to do to tell your loved ones that you think one of their major hobbies is the stupidest thing ever.
