I didn't bother watching this. His NC stuff really hasn't done much for me for a couple years now, aside from an episode here or there. I think a lot of reviewers hit a certain point where they get a sort of reviewer fatigue, and with NC it was pretty obvious.

I think Doug forgot something very important. The reason why the NC became so popular was because it was a review show. I go to his site to watch reviews not webseries.

I really don't get Demoreel, either. You get wacky long drawn out comedy, and then bam, the last few episodes are so damn depressing. It's such a huge tone shift that it felt like hitting a brick wall.

I also just can't see Doug as anyone else other than Doug.

Demo Reel isn't really doing it for me, either. The main thing of his I watch now is Sibling Rivalry. But I do kinda wonder why it got stuffed in under Specials.

I'm not into Demo Reel either -- I couldn't even watch all of the first episode. But I agree with you that I really like Sibling Rivalry! :D I hope they keep doing that :)

I'm not sure where else it would go? It's not "Nostalgia Critic". Short of him giving the show its own section, I'm not sure where else Doug would put it except under "Specials".

I do like Sibling Rivalry a lot. It makes me think of Siskel and Ebert, which I guess makes sense, since he was a big fan of theirs. It's a nice sort of show to have, and I'd like to see them do more focus on it. Like, y'know, one a week, whether or not it was a week when a Really Big Important Movie came out.

Meh. NChick, FilmBrain, Todd and - on occasion - Welshy are pretty much the only guys I watch on the site nowadays, anyway.

I feel bad for saying this, but I'm not really surprised that the show seems to be tanking so hard. The last few years of Nostalgia Critic were very much hit or miss, so it's no wonder that a new project hasn't helped Doug to get his groove back. Not to mention the massive amount of butthurt that was going on when Doug announced that there'd be no more Nostalgia Critic. Call me crazy, but I can't help but to think that there are still some Critic fanboys storming around the site and furiously downvoting every single new DR episode. I'm not saying that's the only reason the show is failing, though. I only watched the first episode and it felt like a huge chore for me, so maybe the quality of the show is just Not That Great.

I like Todd and NChick as well. I kinda like Linkara though I'm not a huge comic book person. I really like Lupa. I also love Diamanda and Brad "Cinema Snob" Jones, but some of the stuff they review is a little extreme, so I skip episode of their shows now and then. I LOVE Team Snob; the group of people Brad does some of his other shows with.

As I said, C!R is great, though he only posts new stuff once in a blue moon. I blame him for getting me into pony fandom. He needs to do more Reviews are Magic because I am too lazy to go back and watch the S1 and S2 episodes in non-summary form :V S3's been pretty entertaining so far though.

Paw's stuff I usually enjoy though the last couple music movies have been hit or miss, usually miss with the reviews where he skips around in the linearity.

Nostalgia Chick I've been marathoning a bit but she's about as hit or miss as the Critic was. Nella's amazing and needs her own show, seriously.

Linkara I watch as I mentioned above. I'm mildly interested in his plotline type stuff, though it might help that I only started following his reviews semi-recently (around the Pokemon special) so I'm not as burnt out on story arcs as long time fans would be. (That and he hasn't done anything storyline in the last several reviews)

Brad's stuff, I tend to skip most of the Snob reviews due to having a fairly weak stomach for that sort of stuff, but I absolutely LOVE his current movie reviews. Especially the reviews he does with Jake; oh god the schadenfreude. I feel bad for laughing at his misery, but he's just so entertaining, ESPECIALLY when angry.

I really want to like it. I do. I love Doug and I love Rob. But I tried to watch the first one and....I couldn't make it. It was too damn long. I know the others since then haven't been so long, but I haven't felt the urge to give them a chance yet. Perhaps when I see them do some movies I actually care about.

I do love Sibling Rivalry.

Fair warning, Doug sort of slaps a depressing backstory onto his character that is pretty random. They also included a 'villain' that....really has no reason to be there. It's a real mess.

Demo Reel has its moments. I enjoyed the Blair Witch stuff. I love Rob on the show and I think Rebecca is pretty funny (if they give up on the show, I hope they find something else for her to do). The rest of it isn't really working for me. And I really wanted it to work for me.

That said, I love Sibling Rivalry.

Personally, the guy annoys the fuck out of me because of his (character's?) gigantic fucking ego. Fanboys and fangirls, fucking blow me.

Second most obnoxious voice beyond Phelous/Lupa doing their over-the-top goofy voices, except he's ALWAYS shrill and heavily accented.

On the plus side? His top 11 hispanic heroes episode was great. On the down side? His phantom menace review was a gigantic fucking slap in the face; A total of about five sentences of actual review, an obnoxious, egotistical, self-congratulatory storyline unnecessarily chopped into three chunks to maximize ad revenue, just all around shit.

With the exception of Plinket/Half in the Bag I don't like story lines in reviews and always skip them. I couldn't give less of a shit about the yearly TGWTG specials. I watched the first episode of Demo Reel about halfway through, then gave up.

Lindsay, Todd, Brad Jones, Kyle and occasionally Phailous are the ones I watch now.

Watched half of the first episode of Demo Reel and then gave up. Good to know I wasn't the only one who didn't care for it.

I don't know. I really wanted to like it, but I just felt like a lot of the humor was forced. *shrug*

I feel like the only person on the internet who likes the Blockbuster Buster sometimes (EXCEPT for his Episode One review).

I'm kinda bitter that NC was canceled so Doug could focus on... this. I tried to keep my love of the site alive through NChick, Todd, Paw, and BB, but it just really seems lackluster overall without Doug there doing reviews too.

I like Blockbuster Buster! I think his review of Cat in the Hat is amazing. "Yeah, throw the fish in the toilet, have the cat fart on the kids, and show his butt to the audience. That'll get a few laughs since we were too FUCKING LAZY TO WRITE JOKES!"

As much as I don't care abut Demo Reel, I can't blame Doug for quitting NC. He's been doing it for several years, and I can see how he would get burned out on it.

See my feelings on ERod above. :I I've tried several of his reviews and only the top 11 one came off as more than just "meh" for me.

He didn't actually cancel the Nostalgia Critic for Demo Reel! I mention as much in the B!S. He felt like it was time to retire the character. And I can respect that! Retire him if you feel like you're done with it. That I have no problem with. The problem is that his new show, unrelatedly, sucks. :V

This whole thread is kinda bumming me out because I like Demo Reel a lot. You of course are free to your opinions and I understand them. I got into Demo Reel because of the focus on the characters in later episodes and I know/can see up thread that some people are just into reviews. Still... *waves a fan flag*

Bias aside, from where I'm looking Demo Reel does have its own subsection. I know it does have fans besides me and Doug and Rob seem to really enjoy working on it. I'm not sure what will happen to it but I don't think they want it to just die out.
