I loved this show when it was on, and in re-watching on Netflix, I still love it. I think it has a lot of great things to say about family, especially things about growing up as a woman (Becky and Darlene are very different people but the show addresses their challenges in growing up equally, without favoring one over the other, and overall they become strong women because of their family life)... I know that things went kind of ridiculous and crazy in the final few seasons, but that happens with a lot of shows that run for so long the ideas start to go dry. Honestly, I think it's a great show and I think that Dan and Roseanne's relationship is a lot more natural and realistic than most married couples on TV. I also love shows that explore sibling relationships and I thought Jackie and Roseanne were a really interesting dynamic.

But maybe I just love 90's sitcoms more than current ones. Roseanne and Frasier especially, totally different kinds of shows but I think that they both won out in making their characters very sympathetic and loveable but also very flawed.
