For the record, Transmetropolitan secrets tend to get associated with me. Also anything bashing Planescape Torment, but my hatred for that game isn't exactly a secret.

It's a load of pretentious overwrought self-indulgent wash too wrapped up in its CREEPYCOOLDARK fantasy freakshow setting and its own breathless obsession with detail to be anything actually well written, with truly excruciating gameplay mechanics that suck out any remaining fun the game might've had. Quite possibly one of the worst games I've played.

And before anyone jumps on me for being a "console kiddie" or "only playing new games" or whatever the elitists want to trot out -- I've been playing PC games for 20 years. I've played several cRPGs, most of the big-name FPS games of the late 90s/early 00s, Deus Ex was my favourite game for 10 years, Fallout 1 is the last word in RPGs for me, I celebrate the anniversary of Doom's shareware release every year, I HAVE OLD-SCHOOL CRED YOU BASTARDS, PLANESCAPE IS TERRIBLE, DEAL WITH IT.

And did you ever get called out on a secret that was really you? Just curious, because I'd be so embarassed if any of my secrets ever got found out... I'm a whimp. That's why I'm called world eater, obviously *snort*.

No, but then again I used to make some really insane troll secrets for laughs. Not gonna say which ones. :)

And hell yeah, 40k. I don't play the tabletop game and I'm terrible at RTS games, but I love the books.

Haha, it's the same for me - I layed Dawn of War a little, but overall I only really read the books. The Pre-Heresy books at that, I don't know a fuck about the current Imperium and only have a very rough idea of what happened overall, but I could tell you all about which hand Horus used to tie his shoe laces (or something).

It's really fun, because I have a friend who is the same and we're constantly trying to figure out what is happening why, what was true what lies why is the emperor such a massive dick etc. etc. I stay mostly away from the present-day books because I don't want to ruin the fun. Thankfully I don't know anyone else who cares about 40k, so our batshit theories don't get disproven.

You should read the Ciaphas Cain novels. Also Gaunt's Ghosts, but Cain is more fun. :)

James Swallow's Sisters of Battle novels are excellent, too. (Don't do much to change the impression of the Sororitas as hidebound fanatics, but they're very interesting fanatics. Also, I ship Miriya and Verity like burning.)
