I'm just annoyed by the purists who whine that "wah~wah~ the dwarves have special designs and don't all look like garden gnomes with differently coloured hoods wah~".

Yeah. Seriously. I actually saw this big rant on Tumblr where some dude was criticizing the film because some of the dwarves did not have a "proper" beards. He was plain out telling that Thorin sucks because he didn't have a proper beard. Like... wat? Yeah, I might have been put out by Kili at first because he just looked like a short human to me but then again I really became to appreciate that they actually tried to make the dwarves unique so you could actually tell each character apart! Also, I must agree with Richard Armitage who said that this whole assumption that all dwarves need to look like this specific sterotype sounds kind of racist actually. We humans don't all look the same either.
