(Anonymous) 2013-01-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)Anyway, as far as purist go, I can't say I've had much good experiences with them. All I remember from when I was in LOTR fandom was them using every opportunity to tell everybody how awful the movies and PJ were and insulting the intelligence of anybody who didn't like the books. I peeked into The Hobbit fandom shortly before the movie came out, saw much of the same thing and made a hasty retreat.

(Anonymous) 2013-01-20 02:07 am (UTC)(link)And maybe OP did think that in her opinion some of the changes were 'wrong', not just different. Since when is it impossible at all to criticise works? Looking at the threads here, it's like nobody has ever been disappointed by a canon they liked, be it by a new episode or an adaptation.
