Re: Love Triangles piss me off because...
(Anonymous) 2013-01-20 01:30 am (UTC)(link)I mean, I have no problem with OT3 in general, but with very few exceptions, love triangles and poly relationships do not have the same dynamics. Also, I find the "everyone is poly! :D" assumption on par with those "everyone is gay and paired off" fics, by which I mean so unlikely as to be jarring and annoying. Most people prefer to be part of a couple when they settle down, and the love triangle as a trope stems from that. If everyone involved was poly, the love triangle probably wouldn't have happened in the first place.
That said, there are a few fandoms that spend some time being attached to OT3s. White Collar is a notable one, and The Avengers has several permutations with Tony/Pepper/Other that you might want to look into.
