River Song. I enjoy every single one of her appearances. Also on Doctor Who, Donna Noble, Martha Jones and the Seventh Doctor (though those last two may only be hated in my neck of the fandom). (Conversely, I rather dislike the Fourth Doctor. Of the ones I've seen enough of to judge (One, Three, Four, Seven through Eleven), he's my least favourite.)

I don't get how people can hate Martha. I get the feeling she suffered because people were so depressed about what happend with Rose and weren't prepared to see someone new. Sort of like hating a step-parent that comes into the picture too early, even if they're actually really cool.

But I've always loved her. She's one of the only (New Who) companions to save the Doctor, and she did it twice at least, and she was kickass.

Do you mean saved the Doctor specifically, or saved the day along with the Doctor? Because I think all the companions have done the latter, and everyone except Rose has done the former (although Donna only did it indirectly).

People hate Donna? I...didn't know that. I thought they only hated her in her first appearance and general consensus when she became a real companion was that she was awesome. :(

What do you dislike about Four, may I ask? I'm just curious to know, since it seems like most people adore the shit out of him (I personally like him a lot, but I don't see anything particularly exceptional about him that makes him go above and beyond the other Doctors so his popularity has always been something that weirded me out a bit).

I just found him utterly BORING. Can't really explain it beyond that.

It didn't help that due to the schedule, I couldn't catch his whole serials, I'd miss episodes in the middle and come back and have to try to catch up - but I had the same problem with catching Three's serials, and I still loved him - he was interesting enough to me to make the effort to figure it out.
