As it's likely already been spoiled for you, after many people clamored and begged and demanded it, Hussie, known for his socially conscious responsibility and great love of his fans, gave them the yaoi couple of their dreams and made it canon!

Of course, it's a relationship that happened over a time skip and is canonly crashing and burning justttt as we catch up. So we find out it happened ... right as it's being deconstructed just so it's clear why it's failing and then it climatically fails.

Needless to say, the OTHER kind of homestuck fan, like myself? Loved this.

So Jane deserves a self-centered, immature brat who doesn't like having to put work in to a relationship, prefers to take and take, and grows bored easily? And this is coming from someone who likes Jake... but recognizes his very serious flaws.

He couldn't even be assed to contact her for months, and forgot her birthday. He only did when he needed something from her.

hussie has very heavily hinted that jake suffered considerable brain damage. i'm not saying he isn't acting like a douchecanoe, but if you haven't noticed the drastic differences in his behavior from his intro to current, can you really even call yourself a fan of him?? i don't get how so many people think he's all right in the head.

He didn't put work into the relationship because he wasn't interested to begin with. Dirk essentially browbeat him into it.

There was a conversation where Jake specifically told someone that he regarded Dirk as more unavoidable than appealing. And given what Dirk did with the robot, and his severed head time loop, that was pretty much the impression Dirk was trying to cultivate.

lol, *I'm* glad they broke up because Dirk deserves better. I might be a little bit bitter though because someone once treated me just like that. His name was also Jake - I'm not even kidding.

And in this particular case, I think Jane kind of shot herself in the foot when she flat-out denied her feelings for Jake when he asked her about them DIRECTLY. I also don't ship it because ecto-incest.

Now that I think about it I don't really ship any of the alpha kids with anyone...at least not yet...honestly I'm just getting tired of all their ~~~drama~~~. Jane and Jake especially annoy me.
