Re: Reading actual books

I'm looking for shorter books. In terms with genres, I'm not crazy about a lot of darker stuff in the realm of violence. I've been burned by long series that I was unsatisfied by the endings.
I actually do like historical, humor, some fantasy, and stuff that's on the lighter side. Good romance is a plus.

Eh, I don't usually do series - I just never remember to get the next book. ^^;;

Let's see...I'd recommend any of John Moore's comedic fantasy books [Slay and Rescue, and Heroics for Beginner's being personal favorites], or Heroes, Inc. By Kyle Crocco. Resenting the Hero by Moira J. Moore is awesome. It's actually a fantasy that doesn't really have too much in the way of romance, but you may end up finding it in the romance section for reasons I'm not aware of. [I'll own up here, it's the first of the one series I follow, however. It works well as a stand alone. The ending is satisfying [imo], and there aren't really any cliff hangers left so you have to keep going in the series.]

I would recommend some historical fiction, but most of the stuff I've read is actually pretty dark and ends up using violence so...I doubt it's what you're looking for. ^^;;
