Re: Reading actual books
(Anonymous) 2013-01-27 04:55 am (UTC)(link)Let's see...I'd recommend any of John Moore's comedic fantasy books [Slay and Rescue, and Heroics for Beginner's being personal favorites], or Heroes, Inc. By Kyle Crocco. Resenting the Hero by Moira J. Moore is awesome. It's actually a fantasy that doesn't really have too much in the way of romance, but you may end up finding it in the romance section for reasons I'm not aware of. [I'll own up here, it's the first of the one series I follow, however. It works well as a stand alone. The ending is satisfying [imo], and there aren't really any cliff hangers left so you have to keep going in the series.]
I would recommend some historical fiction, but most of the stuff I've read is actually pretty dark and ends up using violence so...I doubt it's what you're looking for. ^^;;
