That picture also broke the page. If they did remake Megan and whatnot, I don't see how that'd be a bad thing. As long as they don't include the mushroom wizard and his rainbow locket (Though the elements of harmony are basically the rainbow locket in new shiny G4 style)

And usually any "human world" story element tends to be bad. I can't remember a cartoon other then Bucky O'Hare where I liked that kind of element.

Wellllllllll, Faust really did not like that Cadence was made into an alicorn, and if I remember correctly she only ever wanted there to be two alicorns. I'm very amused at this, though, since the fandom has been so against her getting wings.

Not gonna lie, when the pictures of alicorn!Twilight dropped, I laughed because 1) I totally called it and 2) the incoming shitstorm would be glorious.

In terms of the show, I think it'll be a one-shot due to the Cutie Mark swapping and Twilight-has-to-create-her-own-magic episode. I don't think it will last beyond the season finale. I'm saving my judgement until we see the actual episode, but... I think Princess Twilight is going to be glorious. Get some, girl!

Of course Hasbro is getting involved. It's their franchise. And thank goodness. Means more stuff for the actual, target demographic i.e. little girls.

The little movie shout outs, Jerk!Dash, more crazy!Twilight, Discord (even though i love that villain), all the Spike/Rarity moments in season 2 (feeds the creepy shippers of that), various things like that are seen as fan pandering. The pairing of Ditzy Doo with Time Turner in spots in the background, pairing off Lyra and Bon-Bon in the background.

All things inspired by the fandom. Of which, wouldn't be so bad on their own, but being related to Bronies has ruined it all. At least for me. Which is why this season has been a breath of fresh air, outside Trixie and Discord.

Other then the Lyra/Bon-Bon and Derpy/Time Turner moments (people working on the show called her Derpy, the show called her Derpy, I'ma call her Derpy) I'm not really sure how any of those qualify as "Brony".

And lots of kids shows have shoutouts and homages to movies? Plus there was no way they weren't bringing Discord back, that's just good writing.

Not everything the fandom likes is pandering. Some of that's just good writing. And the show is beloved as far and wide as it is because it was something more then just the little girls could like.

I think as shows for little girls go it was still doing a lot of stuff for the target demographic anyway? But if it does indeed start to laser focus on that, I think you'll see more then the disappearing of bronies. You'll find yourself losing interest in the show as it becomes just another kids show.

Writers who have highly successful shows generally should not be given less control for being successful.

Edit: To clarify my position: Pandering or not, people got interested in this show in the numbers and ages they did because it's a DAMN good show universally. Faust created a family show, the same way Disney creates family movies: yeah kids can watch it, but their parents can watch it with them and actually enjoy it. So when mandates start coming down (and especially when those mandates are "sell more merch" reated) on a show that's been doing fine, you can see the writing damaged. And that could we be an end to more then just the parts you consider pandering.
