In my book, that's exactly what celebrity (or fictional) crushes are for: safely exploring the slightly unusual fantasies in the back of your mind. You know, the kind of stuff you wouldn't talk about with your partner unless you trust each other unconditionally. Or at all. That's fine too.

can someone identify the people/context of the photo? /curious

The guy standing is Benedict Cumberbatch, but that's about all I know.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-01 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Damn, I completely missed that. He looks so different here than he usually does... so much more (trying to find a way to say "normal" that people won't take exception to) average-actor-ish? Not sure if it's the angle or lighting or what, but it works for him.

Photoshop truly is a wondrous tool.

He normally doesn't do much for me, but every now and then, from certain angles...

(Anonymous) 2013-02-01 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
it's a photoshoot for a magazine iirc

Benedict Cumberbatch, posing with Lydia Hearst-Shaw (fun fact! she's the daughter of Patty Hearst, most famous case of Stockholm syndrome ever), in a shoot for Marie Claire December 2010. Here's the rest of the photos.

Nope, that's normal.

People have all sorts of fantasies about all sorts of people. Having dark and bizarre fantasies about a celebrity crush is definitely included in that. I mean, just look at all the bizarre porn out there on the Internet - a lot of the downright weird fetishes have some big audiences, as does celebrity look-alike porn.

Revel in and enjoy your fantasies, OP. I guarantee most people have at least one fantasy involving something dark and bizarre, or a celebrity crush, and a LOT of people combine them. ;)

My celebrity or fictional character fantasies go out of control in another direction LOL. I think I must have some Vulcan in my bloodline or something because somehow I always end up going off on a tangent like, "If I fall through a portal into the SGC, how will I find a job because all my credentials won't exist?" or "If I accidentally got transported into the world of HP by a spell, would I need to get a magic tutor or is there a continuing ed program offered at Hogwarts?" Half the time I'm so busy figuring out how I integrate into the new world that I forget the shipping part of the fantasy. And the other half, I'm the filling in a Remus/Sirius sandwich or Vala's girlfriend. LOL

I think *exactly* the same way. It's actually kind of annoying.

*sympathizes*

I get frustrated with my need to figure out all these details sometimes (and sometimes figuring them out is fun).

I also have a hard time in fantasies not accounting for my husband. So in most of my fantasies, before John Sheppard and I can make sexy times, I have to imagine an appropriate mourning time for the relationship I am forever separated from before I can move on to a new one. *headdesk*

Aah, the joys of not having a significant other and not having to worried about the mourning time.

On the other hand, not having a significant other...

And on my third hand because I am Cthulhu, would aliens have the same physiology as humans, even if they're played by human actors?

Ha. I've done this exact same stupid thing. "Well, if I would up in Dresden Files so I could date/marry Waldo Butters, I guess I could work at Bach-Order Books, because I've got bookshop experience and he's probably used to weird magic stuff and maybe we could just do cash under the table or something...Shoot, maybe Father Forthill knows something about getting convincing fake ID--wait, wasn't this about an adorable coroner?"

Ahahahaahhahhahaa.

I am taking some comfort in not being alone in this.

You can never know what other people are thinking. There's no point in comparing what's going on inside of you with what you see of other people.

[personal profile] fingalsanteater 2013-02-01 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
It all sounds normal to me.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-01 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as you aren't stalking your celebrity crush, or fapping into a plastic baggie and mailing it to them, you probably don't have much to worry about, anon.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-01 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Am I the only one who's kinda curious about OP's fantasies?

I am?

Ok
lunabee34: (Default)

[personal profile] lunabee34 2013-02-01 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I could stand to hear a little more. LOL

(Anonymous) 2013-02-01 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well, a fantasy about being abducted and put on a table by a reptilian alien is by definition dark, OP.

uh, you know what a fantasy IS right?

Happens to me all the time. I'll try to focus on something pleasant and my mind just decides it needs to be more dramatic.
