love love love love love fanon Darcy

So much good fic for her out there.

I'm loving this! The first time, really, a chick gets adopted by fandom the way it usually happens with male characters. It makes me so happy. And a lot of the fic is really fun.

Yeah, it really is.

And I get a little weary of the constant accusations that fanon Darcy is somehow a Mary Sue. Canonically, she's a beautiful young woman who is a smart mouth who tasers a god and said god seems really fucking fond of her. I don't see a huge leap from what we see in canon to beautiful young woman with a smart mouth who tasers bad guys and is now friends with the friends of the god who seems really fucking fond of her. LOL

Hah, yeah, I know. Fandom is still much quicker to declare Mary Sue when it's a woman but hey. Baby steps, I guess.

Actually so far I've found Darcy's characterization surprisingly consistent across the stories I've read. More so than some of the guys.
